USA - Company/Subject Index of Tins

Almost all of the tins representing all the companies or subjects listed below, were originally sold with a food or beverage item in them.  I'd say the 1990's decade probably had the greatest number of U. S. food product tins.  This will be verified the day when all the tins are documented here!😉

The beginning -- I pretty much picked this up on the way out of the country for the next 9 years. It seemed like it would be a touch of home. (1982)

Here's a preview of the historic lineup of tins representing the USA.  Almost every one was  originally sold with a food item in it.  This is only the INDEX at this time.  As tins are posted, names will be set in bold print with an underline representing a "link."

I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin - a LOT of German ancestry. What a surprise to find that a candy company in La Crosse, Wis., used this tin stein (with a plastic handle) in which to sell candy. It was made in West Germany, i.e. pre-1989.

Every once in awhile in the German flohmarkts, I'd come across a "salt box" which I'd buy as "old world kitchenalia." But never having seen any in people's homes during my years, I never understood the purpose until I did a "search" of "why people have salt boxes." Oh, my, what a wealth of historical knowledge of Grandma's world. And what a treasure to have a representative one in tin!
